Senior Accountant

Rudi’s Organic and Gluten Free Brands is a leading producer of certified organic bread in the U.S. and specializes in the production and distribution of delicious bread and baked products.

We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for performing month-end activities and ensure that processes are well-organized and compliant. This role will also support transactional activities as needed. We are looking for a critical thinker who can develop and streamline processes, and that could take on additional responsibilities as the business grows. This role will report to the Controller and offers the opportunity to have a major impact in a fast-paced, team-oriented growth company.

Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end activities, reviewing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
• Support AP/AR accountants with entries, schedules, payment processing and collections, as needed.
• Process customer payments and manage trade deduction process, contacting customers, analyzing related accruals, and preparing relevant reporting.
• Perform cost accounting activities including inventory review and variance analysis.
• Prepare reports that summarize company business activity (financial statements, business activity reports).
• Develop, document, and improve accounting processes, including leading and participating in special projects as needed.

Qualifications:        

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or Business with emphasis in accounting
• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Outstanding communication and self-management skills
• Experience with full cycle accounting, including inventory and cost accounting
• Manufacturing industry experience required, food production or consumer packaged goods experience preferred.
• Understanding of trade management process with retailers/distributors is a major plus.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large amounts of data
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (MS Dynamics Business Central is a plus)

Job type: Full time

Pay range: $60,000-$80,000 annual salary.
