Luke Vernon, Founder
In addition to being the Founder of Luke’s Circle, Luke is a Managing Partner of Ridgeline Ventures, an investment firm that invests in companies in natural foods, active lifestyle, health & wellness and other related fields.
Prior to becoming an investor, Luke was COO of Eco-Products, the world’s #1 provider of sustainable foodservice packaging. During that time, the company grew from less than $1M in annual revenue to $80M before the company was acquired by a much larger entity.
Luke founded Luke’s Circle in 2010. He’s also been involved in a variety of other ventures along the way, including starting some companies and investing in or advising others. Earlier in his career, he was a consultant at Deloitte in New York City. Luke has an MBA from the University of Colorado and a BS from Cornell University where he played basketball for the Big Red. Jay Velasco, Partner
In addition to being a Partner at Luke’s Circle, Jay Velasco is the VP of Operations at Sunday, a new Boulder tech startup that delivers custom lawn care products to help families cultivate beautiful, safe yards.
He was previously an operator at Corr-Jensen, a sports nutrition and functional food company, driving annual revenue from $10M to +$100M. He started his career at Deloitte Consulting after graduating from Cornell University.

Candie Fisher, Head of Talent Acquisition Services
Candie Fisher specializes in working with companies of all sizes to attract, hire and engage talent. She’s an operator-turned recruiter who knows how important it is to build the right team. Having been a CEO as well as a functional leader, she has a unique lens she brings to the recruitment process.
Candie loves working with growing companies and has successfully partnered with scrappy, resource-challenged startup environments to scale their teams while retaining the core of their values and culture. She is a marketer at heart and applies the fundamentals of marketing to amplify the recruiting and hiring process.
From 2014-2019, she was a partner at Notogroup Executive Search, a premier recruitment agency that works with fast-growing companies in consumer products, natural foods, outdoor gear, apparel, and more. Prior to that she was CEO of Head Rush Technologies, a global disruptor in the climbing and adventure industries. She’s also held leadership roles at Continental Airlines and Frontier Airlines among others.
Candie earned an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at University of Pittsburgh and a BA in Economics and Political Science from University of Rochester. She is an avid volunteer, working with organizations including Meals on Wheels, Camber Outdoors, Junior Achievement and Share Our Strength | No Kid Hungry. She is also a Mentor at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado Boulder and has taught Business Communications at the college level.
