Full Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible to provide production needs to support current and forecasted sales.
  • Develop and manage budgets for supply chain including production and QC support, logistics, freight and cost of goods.
  • Identify and select with QC co-packer partners for new and existing items.
  • Source new co-packer partners and key ingredient vendors
  • Develop and negotiate contract terms with co-packers, key ingredient suppliers or supply chain services including executing and implementing contracts. Interface with management as needed to obtain approval.
  • Responsible for managing cost of goods with co-packers and implementing cost reductions.
  • Ensure all co-packers audits and certifications are kept current and have acceptable scores to comply with labeling claims, FDA, and specific customer requirements.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, and/or 5+ years experience with sourcing and managing supplier relationships for the food industry.Understanding of FDA regulatory requirements strongly preferred.

Required Skills, Knowledge or abilities:

  • Role located in San Leandro, CA or Columbus Indiana Area
  • Working knowledge of and ability to structure contracts for supplier partnerships
  • Experienced with forecasting, demand planning and inventory management
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Experienced preparing operating budgets, managing COGS and completing basic financial analysis
  • Must be able to understand operating principles of food processing equipment
  • Have understanding of Food Safety and HACCP programs
  • Deadline oriented with an ability to “make things happen”
