Full Job Description

Reporting to the CEO and based out of the Winston-Salem, NC office, the Chief Customer Officer (CCO) will be a key player in leading the growth of the branded business, including the Dewey’s and Farm & Oven brands.  Working closely with the leadership team, the CCO will develop and lead the execution of a comprehensive sales strategy to expand the retail footprint of the company’s brands.

 

Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy

  • Develop and lead an integrated sales strategy to drive sales growth and profitability within core channels.
  • Lead the strategy for specific channel and customer planning, including both new and existing customers, focusing on grocery, mass and club channels.
  • Develop and manage annual sales budgets, including shopper marketing, field marketing and other sales initiatives.
  • Increase profitability through effective business management, including financial management, margin management, pricing policies and budgeting.

Sales Execution

  • Strategic management of national broker network and key distributors.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships with key retailers.
  • Represent the company as a spokesperson, acting as the "voice and face" in industry representation and trade shows.
  • Works closely with Marketing to establish trade communication platforms and goals.
  • Provide Sales leadership in the S&OP process, ensuring the process is optimized across the organization.

Leadership

  • Build an effective sales team, developing and retaining high performing talent.
  • Partner with all internal departments including Operations, Finance, R&D and Marketing.
  • Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization in a leadership role.
  • Contributing executive team member in the development and execution of the strategic and tactical plans.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of food industry sale experience, with a minimum 8-10 year in leadership role with P&L responsibility. Snack and/or dry grocery experience preferred.
  • Experience leading a national sales organization within a high growth CPG brand with demonstrated ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • A proven track record of sales leadership, including successful consultative selling to executive level customers.
  • Ability to leverage sales insights and other data to develop and execute sales strategy, optimize S&OP and manage sales team performance.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Track record of building high performing teams, as well as broker and distribution relationships. Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate, inspire and develop team members.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to engage at all levels of the organization and externally.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of personal accountability and the ability to hold team members accountable in a positive manner.
