Full Job Description

The Director of Marketing develops and executes integrated brand strategies and marketing plans that drive consumer pull and result in volume and profitable sales growth.  The position has a broad range of responsibilities that requires proficiency in: 1) data analytics, story-telling and strategy development; 2) budgeting & financial analysis; and 3) multi-functional team leadership and development.  The Director of Marketing is a key leadership role in our rapidly growing company and requires the ability and desire to execute at ground level at our Sonoma facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Working closely with the leadership team, lead the development of a robust strategy of the Sonoma brand; develop marketing programs that will reach the target consumer. Extract insights from a wide range of data; provide ongoing analysis and recommendations and anticipate future trends to stay ahead of competition. Develop annual activation plans aligned with brand positioning, creating memorable consumption and in store activation experiences.Create and manage content for Sonoma’s communication channels, including website, social media and e-commerce.Develop and maintain existing brand assets, ensuring consistent brand image and messaging through all communication mediums. Manage partners as contracted providing direction with effective marketing plans, robust KPIs and consistent monitoring and evaluation. Collaborate with and support sales team in customer planning, including trade spending, event participation requests, sampling needs, marketing communication, etc.Work closely with Field Marketing Manager to plan events, demos, and other grassroots marketing.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Marketing, Business or Finance. A range of five to eight years CPG analytics experience, with 3+ years leading marketing; 3+ years food company experience preferred. Expertize in using syndicated data sources (IRI, Nielsen, SPINS). Excellent analytical and computer skills.  Creative, organized, detailed and process oriented, with an ability to excel in a fast paced, constantly changing environment. Strong leadership, excellent listening and verbal communication skills; must be a team player. Demonstrated ability to relate to and understand others. Proven experience in prioritizing and handling multiple projects and assignments while attaining on-time completion. Flexible in both schedule and tasks; desire and ability to handle a wide range of activities.
