Full Job Description
Off the Grid’s Event Marketing Specialist is responsible for the planning, implementation and execution of consumer initiatives within our public event portfolio (our public events are called “Markets”) that drive awareness, increase sales/covers, and draw guests to other areas of OTG’s business.
 
Candidates should possess a strong understanding of event management and promotion, and have demonstrated the ability to execute against marketing plans that create high-quality guest experiences and achieve measurable results. The person in this role will own highly-visible programs that bring the Off the Grid brand to life and that require cross-functional leadership and collaboration throughout the organization.
 
This role reports directly to the Content Marketing Manager, and is a full-time position based at our Fort Mason Center HQ that requires a Monday through Friday schedule with nights and weekends as necessary.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
  • Create and oversee targeted local and regional promotions that drive brand affinity, covers and sales at 15+ Off the Grid Markets (and growing) i.e. guerilla marketing, partner marketing, flyering, onsite signage and communications, etc.
  • Lead marketing launch strategies for new (and recurring) markets and initiatives, including paid digital, owned/earned content efforts and stakeholder management.
  • Ideate, champion and provide support for markets programming and activations that enhance guest experience, drive content generation, and are tied to wider marketing team objectives.
  • Liaise with PR agency on a regular basis to facilitate timely, relevant announcements of activations within Off the Grid Markets.
  • Maintain and create relationships with stakeholders, creators(vendors) and Market’s teams to effectively provide local and regional promotion of Off the Grid markets.
  • Develop new and exciting promotional concepts for partners for brands like Diageo and Apple Pay to help provide maximum return on investment; support Partnership collateral development; and prepare partnership recap for events and other properties at the end of the year/season in a timely manner.
  • Seek out opportunities within travel, tourism and trade organizations, concierge, etc. and proactively identify ways to promote Off the Grid within the tourism sector.
  • Ideate and execute creative ways to bring customer attention to other Off the Grid services (i.e. Off the Grid Catering) within markets while never compromising guest experience.
  • Generate visual content (photo, video, written etc.) from within Markets to help showcase and amplify experience to Off the Grid’s community of Bay Area food lovers.
  • Respond to Yelp & Tripadvisor reviews and guest inquiries via social/email; provide feedback loop to Operations; be the eyes and ears of the Markets team on the ground and participate in weekly debriefs to help enhance guest experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
 
Years of Related Professional Experience: 2-4 years experience in a marketing role with a strong events focus (culinary or hospitality industry a major plus). Proven experience with event marketing, logistics and project management.
Educational/Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required, Marketing or related field a plus.
Computer/Software/Technical Applications: Proficiency with WordPress or other website CMS tools; basic HTML skills a plus, Proficiency with Asana or other PM tools an asset.
Languages: Ability to speak and understand English the primary language used in the workplace.
Travel: On site/event work & travel to various regional venues as required, including evenings and weekends
