Full Job Description

The Brand Manager contributes to the overall success of the Nutiva brand by managing programs that champion the Company’s strategic goals.  Reporting to the Marketing Director, this role will serve as the primary marketing lead for driving business for Nutiva’s product lines.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • +5 years marketing and/or brand management experience
  • Consumer marketing and/ or innovation experience
  • Project Management experience and experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Syndicated data and/ or data analytics experience e.g Neilson, SPINS or IRI.
  • High proficiency in Excel, Word, and Powerpoint and ability to analyze complex data sets.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and being able push through multiple projects at the same time
  • Desire to work for a small, mission-driven, privately held company with visionary founder/entrepreneurs.
  • A passion for the values and mission of Nutiva and practices a healthy lifestyle.

  • Ability to drive projects, communicate effectively, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, bringing new products to market.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Management

  • Analyze and understand key business trends, track and report business results and provide recommendations to address issues in a timely manner
  • Effectively coordinate and provide direction to internal support teams and outside agencies (communications, trade, design etc.)
  • Manage new product initiatives and pipeline process to drive consumer focused innovation through the utilization of the stage gate process
  • Develop and lead consumer research projects to understand brand positioning, identify new opportunities for growth or enhance positioning
  • Elevate brand positioning by creating an ‘ownable’ sustainability narrative (Nutiva’s 1% donation program) that resonates with consumers, increases market share, and HH penetration
  • Manage budget and P&L to increase brand profitability

Marketing Plans

  • Develop annual strategies, objectives and budgets for the brand
  • Work with Marketing Communications and Trade Marketing Manager to drive and create an integrated / holistic plan (across all elements of the marketing mix)
  • Ensure all creative executions meet quality expectations and fit with the brand equity
  • Work with Marketing and Sales teams to implement annual plans, tactics and budgets
  • Monitor progress against objectives, develop recommendations and communicate as needed to achieve objectives
  • Achieve annual profit, market share, and budget objectives

 Marketing Research

  • Conduct competitive third party data, quantitative and qualitative research on products, claims, language, go-to-market strategies as it relates to various brand and/ or product initiatives
  • Develop consumer research plan to holistically understand the motivations and attitudes of consumers, and how they use Nutiva products

 Industry / Market Contacts

  • Collaborate with the Trade Marketing Manager and Sales to understand market issues/ achievements by participating in bi-monthly meeting and quarterly store checks
  • Participate in customer calls to understand issues and implement plans, as needed or requested by sales
