Full Job Description

The Sales Manager of the Western Region is for an integral member of the small, yet mighty Backpacker’s Pantry team. She/he will report directly to the VP of Sales & Marketing and will jump into action with an assigned group of established accounts. Responsibilities will include sales to the western states, customer service inquiries, sponsorships & donations, sales material & data base management. This position may also provide sales assistance and support for some national accounts. Based on experience, this position is for a Sales Manager or Sales Director (to take on additional national accounts).
The day-to-day entails:
• Drive sales within existing accounts and secure new accounts for the western states (Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico and everything to the west)
• Provide the highest level of customer service with friendliness and professionalism
• Local/national travel for sales calls, food demos, shop visits, and trade shows
• Process orders and respond to customer feedback/reviews
• Support VP of Sales & Marketing with order entry and new account paperwork
• Stay current on market trends, competitor products, and promotional campaigns
• Work with the VP to strategize brand partnerships, promotions and athlete sponsorships
• General office duties including support for other AOP brands (Astronaut Ice Cream, Chef Soraya, Colorado Spice)

• Effective project-management skills, including strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. It gets crazy around here!
• Accuracy & attention to detail is critical
So what’s your background look like:
• You enjoy the outdoors and strive to keep them for future generations
• Minimum 4 years prior experience of broad-based sales
o Outdoor industry experience a major plus, as is involvement and familiarity with food related sales
• Proven track record of meeting key performance metrics in previous positions
• Must be able to direct, nurture and develop accounts within your region
• A strong leader able to foster and maintain a healthy team dynamic and spirit within a fast paced,
problem solving based, agile, collaborative work environment
• Effective and proficient public speaking, writing and presentation skills
• Be highly organized and have excellent follow-through
